Why we love Drew...

In the last week, Drew and I have had some serious conversations about his future. We've already had the "college talk" twice now. The first time he was trying to understand how Eddie went to college and he went to pre-school. I explained that college is school after regular school where you get to pick your favorite thing. I asked him what his favorite thing to do at school was...tracking, he replied. (That's when they trace the letters of the alphabet) So maybe he'll be a writer?
Earlier this week he asked why the Dallas Cowboys don't play the Longhorns. So we went into a big discussion about playing in college as opposed to getting paid to play and it being your actual job. He decided that he wants to play football in college!
If overcoming his genetic future of probably not growing much taller than 5'7'' was going to be hard enough to achieve, he decides to ask me about how basketball players dunk. (I was wearing a shirt where the player was hanging on the rim) With the most sincere, frustrated tone he asked why he couldn't jump high enough to dunk the basketball. I told him to continue to do his heel raises and practice jump rope and in 20 years he might be able to do it when he's old enough.

You gotta love a kid that dreams as big as Drew does!
